This paper is not actually an article but a list of notes designed to be used in a power point presentation. It covers some basic facts about the Maya, some details about Tikal (Guatemala), and some details on how the Maya worked out the layout of their settlements due to astronomical calculations that were in themselves surprising considering the Maya did not have a lot in the way of tools. Two Website references are included.
